Working with award-winning producer Michael Jack and the wickedly talented guitarist Chris Tomchak, Sydney has created a driving rock song, describing the hot and cold relationship many people have with their mental health and medication.

"In The Weeds" describes the desparation for the need to feel better, while understanding the side effects may not always be ideal.

In The Weeds Out Now!

In every songwriter, there is a history of reasons to why they write the way they write. There is a thought process created from all our ups and downs and all our experiences.

I grew up in a beach town. Ever since I can remember I’ve been swimming. Our neighborhood was surrounded by forest until someone decided we needed to clear it out to make room for more people. I picked up the guitar and started singing and playing between the ages of 13 and 14. I spent most of my high school experience in the music room. I had my heart broken at 16, then I broke someone else’s at 20.

I am a hopeless romantic. I enjoy fantasy. I love the rain, the lake, mountain air, and hot chocolate. I love the sound of wind blowing through trees. I love to paint. I love waking up to a crisp autumn morning with the smell of cinnamon and nutmeg.

My fears often drive my songwriting. I get anxious about the environment, about getting older, about getting sick, and about talking too much. I indulge in my own pain too often. I hang onto my emotions like I’m hanging off a cliff.

In 2019 I released my first single, “I Am The Ocean”. It’s a tale of confusion and self-doubt, and finding yourself. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I did writing it. It will only go up from here.
