Behind the Music

In every songwriter, there is a history of reasons to why they write the way they write. There is a thought process created from all our ups and downs and all our experiences.

I grew up in a beach town. Ever since I can remember I’ve been swimming. Our neighborhood was surrounded by forest until someone decided we needed to clear it out to make room for more people. I picked up the guitar and started singing and playing between the ages of 13 and 14. I spent most of my high school experience in the music room. I had my heart broken at 16, then I broke someone else’s at 20.

My fears often drive my songwriting. I get anxious about the environment, about getting older, about getting sick, and about talking too much. I indulge in my own pain too often. I hang onto my emotions like I’m hanging off a cliff.

In 2021 I released my first collection of songs, a 6-song EP with themes of self-doubt, mental illness, and the overall struggle of being human.

I hope you've enjoyed my works as much as I enjoyed making them.
